The JEE Main exam is an important test for students aiming to enter top engineering colleges. Experts say that about 80% of the questions in the exam are those that most students can attempt. In a recent webinar organized by Eenadu-Pratibha, experts shared valuable advice for students preparing for the exam.
Focus on Revision, Not New Topics
At this stage of preparation, students should focus on revising the topics they have already studied rather than starting new chapters. Neela Megha Shyam Desai, a computer science teacher and education expert, emphasized the importance of structured revision to improve performance.
Choosing the Right Questions
Mathematics teacher and JEE India Coordinator of Sri Chaitanya Vidyasamstha, M. Umashankar, explained that selecting the right questions is crucial during the exam. Due to time constraints, students must quickly decide which questions to attempt first and which to skip and revisit later.
Importance of Strong Fundamentals
Experts advise students to pay special attention to complex mathematical formulas and second-year intermediate chapters. Chemistry questions are usually of average difficulty, but organic chemistry and other topics can be challenging if the basics are not well understood. Dr. Mannam Krishnamurthy, Chief Executive Dean of Varsity Education Management, urged students not to believe in rumors about the exam pattern and to stick to their preparation plan.
Physics Requires Accuracy
T. Ramakrishna, a physics expert at Narayana Vidyasamstha, pointed out that students often misinterpret physics questions due to exam pressure. Most physics questions are straightforward, but accuracy is key. He recommended memorizing important formulas daily to avoid mistakes.
Key Strategies for the Exam
Experts also reminded students that there will be no multiple-choice questions this time. The webinar covered important topics such as question classification, exam pattern, which questions to answer first, and how to manage time effectively. Strategies for writing mock tests and staying focused during the exam were also discussed.
JEE Main 2025 Exam Dates
The second session of JEE Main 2025 will be held from April 2 to April 9. Students should use their remaining time wisely, focusing on revision and practice rather than unnecessary worries. With a clear approach and confidence, they can achieve good ranks in the exam.
